Lets say Monday  we are in London's Heathrow Airport in the late Afternoon  (caught plane Sunday but lose a day) It is 53 minutes by bus or we can  all jump into a minivan and get to the heart of London near the Eye and The Olympic Park which is full of brand new hotels. We have 3 days . So much to do!!

What is the best plan to see London without too much fuss? By asking my London buddy he directed me to this guide:

People use the London Eye to see the whole city at once.
London is over 1,947 years old
(Romans)

We  have until the end of the workweek to get to Northern Scotland. As long as we catch a train before  5 pm Friday  we are good.

Just have a suitcase of money ---London makes New York look reasonable. Post BREXIT  in 2021 who knows? Having traveled pre - the Euro, Great Britain's costs may be affordable again. All spend 1 night and 2 whole days in London . Your real goal is the countryside- Norton Country.
Night Train to Hurst on the end of day 4. Approximately $ 25 US.

Hurst formerly Hurstpierpont  is landlocked. The original Norman landing point in 1066
is near Dover @ 100 miles away ----as is the Hastings battlefield.)

This distant relative and his DNA mix gave us a lot of European DNA -
 up to 37 %
depending on how the  DNA dice rolled.
Its all gambling with DNA-

so If you are trying to explain the Phenotype(how somebody looks) it is entirely different from the Genotype (actual inherited sequences of DNA). Because of sequences there is no such thing as Race--.All humans come from the same pool just like all lions come from their same pool.  For us Humans it is also a specific blood type pool , eye color pool, etc.
Simply stated There is no such thing as a Roman nose, but there is such a thing as a pool where you have the possibility of having said nose...

However Hurst  is in the area where you can actually hike into the giant holes left by Nazi V2 rockets*. Hurst is a simple town,  You go there to chill  and paint or read and be a Briton on holiday. Besides the pubs, and hiking in the National Forest there is not much to do. But that is where the overseas DNA on the Norton side starts. Need to see some ocean ? Head down to Brighton -
 The beach is famous.

The village of Hurst itself is approximately 100 miles from the English Channel also 100 miles away is the tunnel aka Chunnel (Channel Tunnel) as are the white Cliffs of Dover.

Think of the movie  Dunkirk - this Eastern coast
saw a lot of action. The town of Hurst is inland and  Hurst is actually on England's Southern to Southeastern coast.

I suggest  a bed and breakfast in Hurst, Act like a local from London taking a holiday. You have done whatever you wanted to do in 3 days of  London. You have spent 2 days in Hurst. And at this point  in the trip, Margo took her 2nd day at Hurst,  actually   took the train into Hailsham  to Enigma Titanium Limited

Thank goodness  the entire  train system in the British Isles accommodates  cyclists. Margo hangs out with you at Hurst one more day  and then everybody catches the Train to Oban, Scotland  and there is no rush from the Glasgow Airport. Besides ,we all flew in from London together from Atlanta, and we can all rest on the train overnight to Oban  (see top left of this map).

After Hurst(Norton)  , London to Oban is the direction of the MacAllister trip. The next 10 days In and around Glasgow -see article on that aspect  here .

*30 months of bombing in WW2 and England ended up with national health care for all, no questions asked.
