Maxine Hubbard Belton (Flossie Norton) lived the 12 days of Christmas. She was born one day after Epiphany  which marks the 12th day. Today would have been her 91st birthday.  I am posting her  memorial card here.  Thanks to Maxine  doing her DNA along with her oldest sister--  my  Mom provided a better understanding of what we really are- which is not measured in Quarters  but in thirds and 5ths and is more complicated than you think. while she was alive , I put together a book for Mom  so she could have a visual understanding of what she always told me- the stories about the Farm with Mattie MacAllister, ALL the uncles (Flossie's brothers and sisters were 10 in total.) google-site-verification: googlec6e1936af5938ed9.html

We've lost a beloved family member

Dear Norton-McAlister Family and Friends, Maxine Belton, the youngest of 5 children born to late Flossie Norton and Hardy Hubbard, passed peacefully away, at her home in Detroit, on Sunday, October 6, 2019.  Maxine was born Jimmy Ruth, in Holly Springs, Mississippi.  Maxine attended the Norton Family reunion in Tupelo, Mississippi in 2018 with her oldest daughter Margaret (Margo), and her sister, Dorothy. She cared deeply about her family and enjoyed seeing all her many nieces, nephews and cousins; especially her two 1st cousins, Cora and Daisy. The planning committee meetings for the Norton-McAlister Family Reunion Detroit 2020 have been held at her home.  Maxine was married to Howard R. Belton and they had four daughters; Margaret, Alice, Cara and Kathleen.  Words of encouragement, prayers, cards, floral arrangements, etc. would be welcomed and deeply appreciated by her husband and daughters.  The arrangements are as follows: V...
